Today's topic is plates. I am one that likes to save money anywhere I can. I would rather put in a little extra time than money. You could go out and buy a themed pack of plates for $3-$5 but would only get anywhere from 8-10 plates. However, if you get plain colored plates you can get 20 for less than $1. My project today is my Mickey and Minnie Plates. I started out with just my plane basic black plate. I cut out several circles and for Minnie I cut out several hair bows.
All you need is glue or glue dots (my preference) and poof you have instant hit.

Crafting Away
Over the last 24 hours I have been cutting out gobs and gobs of
circles. I am now up to 250 black 4" circles. I can't wait to show you
the projects that I will be doing with these circles. Hoping by Monday
I will be able to at least post one project using some of these
circles.

Mickey Birthday Invite
Maddie and Zack are going to be 3 year olds in 2 weeks. Scarey huh? I have a VERY small budget for decorating this party because we have spent most of our budget on a bounce house that we are renting for their birthday. So...first up is invitations. I have spent $35 on a Mickey Cricut Cartridge which I will be using throughout all the party decor. I immediately put it to use on our birthday invites. I had a ton of paper already...all that was needed is black and red paper. The only additional purchase I made was for buttons. I spent $2 for a huge bag of white buttons. I hand made about 30 invites. Here is my final product. I think they were a hit!
Sincerest Apologies
I have been a TERRIBLE blogger. I am so sorry. It has been one insane summer, but I am now in full birthday party planning mode for Maddie and Zack. I will be sharing LOTS of fun DIY party things, because this party will be under an extremely tight budget! So be on the lookout!

Luau Cups
In all my parties I try to make my drink cups stand out. So when I
thought about the luau I immediately wanted to put the cups in hula
skirts.
I first took green crepe paper and cut small slits on only one side of the paper. I then glued them around the cuts. Then I took my cricut and cut out 7 different colored flowers and then glued them on.
