Sneak Peek

I am currently working on a baby shower coming up. Today I worked on a lamp that goes with the theme. I bought it at a local Salvation Army for $7. It was originally white with a purple lamp shade. To match my color scheme I painted it blue then took yellow fabric and updated the shade. It isn't perfect but it did the trick.  Can't wait to show you all the rest!

Business News

So I made my first business purchase today.  It is still like a dream and not real yet that I have my own business.  CRAZY!  My first purchase was my business cards.  What do you think?

Maysonet Toy Story Party - Part II

As I mentioned yesterday this party was just soooooo much fun! After sitting down with Stacy (mom of the birthday boys) we decided to have stations similar to my twins birthday party seen HERE.  The stations we came up with were:
1) The Main Food Table - designed to resemble Pizza Planet from the movie
2) Photo Booth - the background set up like Andy's (the owner of all the toy's in the movie) room.
3) Games - each game had something to relate to the movie Toy Story
4) Crafts
5) Desserts - designed to resemble Andy's room

Since this party landed on Dec. 31, I knew I had to plan, prep and pack everything over a week in advance.  We were on the road for Christmas and would not be returning home before the party.  There were a few things I had forgotten to pack (chinese lanterns, tissue balls, and a few toys), but I think everything turned out great.

Station 1 was Pizza Planet.  These are a few pictures of the table before the pizza arrived.  I had put out several aliens from the movie and then some that I had made.  I also hung several symbols of space from the ceiling along with the sign Pizza Planet.

Station 2 was the Photo Booth.  Some of the props were an Etch A Sketch, Buzz hat, Woody Hat, Jessie Hat, Alien eyes, Hamm's nose, Mr. Potato Head's mustache.  I always LOVE photo booths.  It is a FANTASTIC way to get a picture of all your guests.

Station 3 were Games.  Some of the games we had set up were Pin the tail on Bullseye, Shoot the Enemy (a sign of Lotso the Bear and a nerf dart gun), Alien bowling, and There's a Snake in my Boots (Woody's boot hanging and you toss snakes in from a distance).

Station 4 was set up as the Crafts station.  We had several activities to choose from.  There were cut outs of Mr. Potato Head and you could design his face, Toy Story coloring pages, Toy Story stencils, and Toy Story puzzles.

Station 5 was by far my favorite, because it had the desserts.  We had cupcakes that were aliens and Hamm.  There were chocolate Mr. Potato Head mustaches.  Also on the table were Jessie hats (which were cookies with gum drops to resemble Ms. Jessie's hat).  On top of the cupcake stands were each boy's personal cake.  The cakes were made to resemble Andy's bed.  Each one had their own Toy Story character on top.

Maysonet Toy Story Party - Part I

On New Year's Eve I got the honor of putting together a birthday party for my wonderful nephews, Aaden (3) and Bentley (1).  For Halloween the boys dressed up like characters from the movie Toy Story (mom and dad also joined in as well), so when it came time to decide what kind of party they should have we didn't have to think too hard.  My kids LOVE Buzz, Woody, Jessie and all the Toy Story gang so coming up with ideas was not too hard.  This first post is going to be pictures featuring the guests at the party and some of their photo booth fun.  I will post detailed pictures tomorrow when I get a chance to sit down to go more in detail.
